Hardware

Three things in the kitchen. That is it.

No terminal bolted to the counter, no cash drawer you did not ask for, no two-day installation. A tablet, a printer, and something to keep them talking to each other.

Live today

The problem

Restaurant technology has a habit of arriving on a pallet.

You wanted to take orders online. What turned up was a terminal, a stand, a card reader, a cash drawer, a scanner and an installer who needs the place closed on a Tuesday.

The equipment should be whatever the work actually needs. Nothing else is doing anything for your restaurant.

What you need

The whole setup.

Android tablet — Restaurant Order Terminal

Where online orders arrive and where staff can enter phone and manual orders. This tablet is the Restaurant Order Terminal, which is live today. It is not the GetBrovo Full POS register, which is coming soon.

Epson kitchen printer

Prints the tickets. Add another if a second station wants its own.

Small router

A small local network router that keeps the Restaurant Order Terminal and the kitchen printer reliably connected, so tickets print when it is busy. It is a local network device only. It does not process payments and it is not a payment terminal.

The router is not networking for its own sake. It is the reason the printer works at eight o’clock on a Saturday.

Already have some of it

If your printer works, keep your printer.

Compatible Epson kitchen printers are widely available, and plenty of restaurants already have one sitting in the kitchen.

If yours is compatible, use it. We are not going to sell you a second one to replace something that already does the job.

Tell us what you already have and we will tell you what you actually need to add. That list is usually shorter than people expect.

What this is not

Being clear about the limits.

  • This is not a full point-of-sale install. A GetBrovo register is a future product, not something shipping today.
  • There is no barcode scanner. A restaurant does not need one.
  • You do not have to replace your existing point-of-sale system to use GetBrovo.

Every piece of equipment you do not need is money you keep and one less thing to go wrong on a busy night.

Cost

What it comes to depends on what you already have.

A restaurant with a compatible printer needs a different list from one starting with an empty counter, and quoting one number on a web page would be wrong for both.

Tell us what is in your kitchen now and we will work out the shortest list that gets you running.
